- INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE CARBON COPY SERVER
- =============================================
-
- The CARBON server will allow you to send one message to your local BBS and
- have identical copies sent as personal messages to other amateurs either
- locally or at distant mailboxes. This server is particularly suited to
- members of a local radio club or interest group where a wide dissemination
- of information is required, without the effort of typing many identical
- messages.
-
- The actual operation of this server is contained in a document which your
- local sysop received with the software but an example message is shown
- below:-
-
-
- Address : SP CLUB1 @ GB7$$$
- Title : Radio Club Night Out
- Message text :
-
- Hello All,
-
- The coach for the Radio Club outing will leave the club premises at
- 8.00pm on Saturday.
-
- 73,
-
- Fred Bloggs G9ZZZ.
- Secretary.
- (Then either /EX or CONTROL Z to finish).
-
-
- This message would be addressed to all members of the club who were on the
- distribution list CLUB1. All members would receive a copy of the message,
- appended to the top of which, depending on how your SYSOP has set up the
- server, may be a list of all it's recipients.
-
- The sender (Fred Bloggs) will not receive a copy, instead he will receive a
- short acknowledgement from the server informing him that distribution has
- taken place, and showing the callsigns to whom the carboned message was
- sent.
-
- For further information about using server facilities please contact your
- local sysop.
